Bippity Boppity

So most of you know that Will is a very slow mover. He's a clever kid and can do many things, but never seemed interested in moving around. My sister Jo's kids are the same way: really smart and funny but take their time crawling and walking. So anyway, Will first rolled over at about three months. But he would never do it outside of his crib! I saw him do it maybe twice. Until about seven months, out of the blue, he started rolling all over the place. Weird. And that became his main mode of transportation, as it does for many babies much younger than he. I thought it was weird that he never even did that 'wounded soldier' crawl, dragging his body on the ground. But we did notice that he would always be rocking on his hands and knees in his crib. We have learned that that's where he practices his latest moves.

So about a week ago he learned to sit himself up from lying down and I think it gave him confidence to do other things. Last night I noticed that he was started to scootch himself forward, so I was thinking that if he learned how to do that then it would probably be awhile until he even attempted to crawl. But Aaron took Will into primary today and saw that he was trying to crawl on his knees! Yay! It took him forever, but he's finally doing it!

Despite the fact that he is complaining the entire time, we are excited here because now we don't have to say 'Not yet!' to all the people asking "Is he crawling yet?"

In other news, this was a pretty fun weekend. Friday night we made pizza together and watched the new Monk and Psych. Saturday I actually got motivated to finally make it to the weight-lifting class to the gym to watch the instructors flirt with each other, and then Aaron and I dropped Will off with Tiffany and saw a chick flick IN THE THEATER for Valentine's Day. Yes, big deal because we never see movies in the theater and when we do they are always the big blockbusters. It was fun to go out though and then we just hung out at home. Aaron has been spending every spare second studying for the board this summer, which makes me proud that he would be so responsible about it already. He also made the gravy again. Aaron loves to cook gravy, for some reason (which is fine with me because I hate making it.)
Aaron also got called to be a Webelos Scout Leader. I found out that the title 'Webelos' came from an old motto 'We'll Be Loyal Scouts." But as his new co-leader was talking to him about the activities and things they'll be doing, I remembered how I really wanted to be a scout as a kid and went to all the pack meetings and a lot of the activities. And now, after talking about it, I want to be a scout again. Aaron told me that I'll get plenty of opportunities to do scouting with Will. The reading merit badge?
